  I went in to grab a pair of shorts for my 7 year old. There was only one pair his size, they were unappealing athletic shorts, and they were $7. Baby outfits were $9 - $12.50. This may sound inexpensive, but I can find much better selection and quality for the same or less amount at larger stores such as Kmart and Walmart. Perhaps they are this high because there is little competition for clothing sales in this mile radius. However, being that Dollar General is a chain, I would have to assume that these are the prices in all of their stores.
  The store was clean and organized, but very crammed full of stuff. I expect a Dollar General to be smaller and overly filled with inexpensive items that are often of lesser quality than bigger stores, so the overall atmosphere was as expected. But to charge big store prices for off brand items in what looked like a yard sale selection of clothing items just seemed odd to me.
